 Lean Management

We provide Lean Management consulting to meet your specific needs as it benefits both - clients who are new to this concept, and the ones who have been successfully implementing it for years. We enable a company to establish a sense of direction and set corporate objectives. Implementing lean systems enables a company to eliminate processes that do not offer value and track improvement via a set of reliable metrics. This form of management allows company executives to have a clearer picture of what is working correctly for the company and what areas are in need of changes.

Lean Manufacturing is the production of your product to your customer's maximum daily demand in a balanced, sequenced flow process with minimal lead time using only the value-added elements of that process. All non-value added activities, such as material handling, changeover, waiting, moving, and defects in manufacturing are either eliminated or minimized.

Lean Manufacturing is a new departure from traditional manufacturing methods. The principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing are based on the Toyota Production System, and can be applied in nearly every manufacturing environment including high volume, mixed model production as well as job shops and custom manufacturing. Flow Enterprise Process Management extends this approach throughout the organization to other business processes such as Order Processing, Distribution, etc. Lean Manufacturing is not an all-or-nothing-at-all methodology.

With our domain experts in Lean Management, we help you benefit in :

  • Significantly increasing throughput
  • Reducing order fulfilment lead-times to meet customer demand
  • Reducing non-value added activities, substantially improve productivity, and lower your operating costs
  • Coordinating Sales, Order Processing, and Order Fulfilments processes to improve your on-time delivery
  • Reducing inventory requirements
  • Evaluating purchasing and credit policies to improve your cash flow

 Total Quality Management

Our TQM experts provide clients a management approach to long-term success through customer satisfaction. It focuses on continually improving the business and its products while reducing losses due to wasteful practices. Many of the techniques used to implement TQM came from Edwards Deming, Kaoru Ishikawa, and J. M. Juran.

 Process Re-engineering

Our Re-Engineering specialists facilitate and guide initiatives that are intended to achieve radically redesigned and improved work processes within a specific time frame. It consists of starting over with a blank page to invent new methods and procedures that achieve dramatic improvements in process performance, which is a set of logically related tasks performed to achieve a defined outcome for our clients.

At COMS, we help clients align their business goals with technology & best practices, facilitate people coordination, tools and technology with best-practices enumerated in CMMI, to improve their processes, and deliver measurable outcomes & benefits.

CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) models are collections of best practices that help organizations to improve their processes. These models are developed by product teams with members from industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute (SEI).

 5S & Kaizen

COMS trains, coaches and monitors the clients to effectively implement Kaizen and 5S.

The word Kaizen means "continuous improvement" in quality, technology, processes, company culture, productivity, safety and leadership. It is a system that involves every employee - from top management to the cleaning crew. Everyone is encouraged to come up with small improvement suggestions on a regular basis. This is not a once a month or once a year activity, it is continuous.

5S is a method (Japanese concept) for organizing a workplace, especially a shared workplace (like a shop floor or an office space). It focuses on having visual order, organization, cleanliness and standardization. This builds a clear understanding among employees about how work should be done. It also instils ownership of the process in each employee. The key targets of 5S are workplace morale and efficiency.

 Total Productivity Maintenance

At COMS, we facilitate and guide our clients in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program which involves a newly defined concept for maintaining plants and equipment. We help bring maintenance into focus as a necessary and vitally important part of the business. It is no longer regarded as a non-profit activity. With TPM, we enable you to identify 6 Production losses and 7 Process losses (types of waste) (muda) and then work systematically to eliminate them by making improvements (kaizen). TPM has 8 pillars of activity, each being set to achieve a "zero" target

 Supply Chain Management

Our Supply Chain Management (SCM) Practice helps you in the design and management of seamless , value-added process across organizational boundaries to meet the real needs of the end customer. Our customised supply chain solution enables organization systems across people, technologies, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to customer. Supply Chain Management is a competitive business edge today, after product quality and manufacturing capabilities of any business firm. Supply chain activities transform natural resources, raw materials and components into a finished product that is delivered to the end user.

More specifically, COMS' SCM Practice encompasses planning and management of all activities involved in sourcing and procurement, conversion, and all logistics management activities. It also includes guidance on coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers.

We integrate supply and demand management within and across companies. We also assist in integrating functions with primary responsibility for linking major business functions and processes within and across companies into a cohesive and high-performing business model. It includes all of the logistics management activities noted above, as well as manufacturing operations, while driving coordination of processes & activities within and across marketing, sales, product design, finance and information technology.

 Balanced Scorecard (BSC)

Our BSC experts help clients in determining key performance measures that are "balanced" between external and internal factors as well as past and predictive measures. As we enable clients to develop The Balanced Scorecard from the organization's strategy and translate it into objectives and measures, the result is a dashboard that provides a high level monitoring of an organization's performance.

Business Excellence Models

Excellence models are an effective way for organizations to measure their overall performance, and benchmark it internally and externally.
